The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (

BACP is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation and an accrediting body that many counsellors are registered with. It sets, promotes and maintains standards for the profession and ensures that its members abide by an accepted code of conduct and accountability.

The Health and Care Professions Council (

HCPC is an independent regulator which regulates 15 other professions besides social work. Its main purpose is to protect the public by setting and maintaining standards of proficiency and conduct for the professions it regulates.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (

NICE provides national guidance and advice to improve health and social care. ‎ 

Childline (

Childline is a free and confidential counselling service for children and young people up to their 19th birthday.

Family Lives (formerly Parentline Plus) (

Family Lives is a national family support charity providing help and support in all aspects of family life. 

Mind (

Mind is a national organisation providing advice and support to anyone experiencing any kind of mental health problem. It is also a good source of information on different mental health issues.

Samaritans (

Samaritans is a national charity aimed at providing emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide.

UK Reiki Federation (

UK Reiki Federation is an independent organisation of individuals who have been attuned to Reiki, with the objective of providing support and guidance to Reiki professionals and to the public, with particular reference to education and training, and the public practice of Reiki.
